Contestants green with envy after witch wins Show Off 2009
Acts from around East Hampshire competed in the talent show - organised by East Hampshire District Council - that aims to highlight the standard of local performers.
Caroline impressed the judges with her performance of 'I'm Not That Girl' from the musical Wicked, sporting green make-up.
The competition was split into two age groups: 9-13 and 14-18, with prizes for first, second and third in each group. As the highest scorer of the two age-group winners, Caroline won the competition overall.
The winner of the 9-13 age group was Lydia Wootton of Petersfield with her performance of 'A Whole New World', originally from the Disney film Aladdin. Second place went to The Theory Of Six Degrees: Scott Verrill, Joe Boon, Jack Shepherd and Sam Pollard, a rock band who performed their own song 'Always on the Run' with a lightning-fingered solo from Joe (from Grayshott). Third was Luke Prosser, a singer-songwriter from Petersfield.
In the 14-18 age group, second place went to Lucy Amor from Petersfield, who sang her own song 'Rules and Regulations'. Third was Zak Habgood from Whitehill Bordon, who played a note perfect classical guitar piece.
Councillor Ken Graham, who presented the prizes to the winners said: “Everyone who took part in the event should be very proud. I’m always impressed by standard of the acts at these talent shows; the job of the judges must have been a very difficult one. Unfortunately not everyone can win but I hope that all of the acts enjoyed the evening as much as the audience clearly did.”
